Here at Grove House Nursery School and Children's Centre we have a fantastic team, with a wealth of experience and qualifications.

Headteacher

Helen has been a dedicated member of the Grove House Nursery School Team for many years, beginning as a class teacher here in 2009, and later taking on the roles of deputy headteacher and SENDCO in 2015. Helen feels privileged to have been given the opportunity to lead Grove House as headteacher from September 2025, and her favourite part of the job is meeting and getting to know our families and children. In her spare time Helen loves to spend time outdoors with her family, and enjoys arts and crafts projects.

Deputy Headteacher SENDCO

Ruby joined Grove House in 2007 as a nursery nurse. After many years of supporting children and families in this role Ruby studied alongside her work to become a qualified teacher, and gained some experience teaching in other local primary schools. Ruby came back to Grove House as a teacher in 2024, and we are very lucky to have her as our deputy headteacher and SENDCO from September 2025. In her spare time Ruby loves to spend time with her family, and gets active by cycling. Ruby is a speaker of Punjabi and Hindi.

School Business Manager

Michelle took on the role of School Business Manager here at Grove House in 2018. Michelle does the job of looking after the business side of school life, and does endless work in the background to support staff and contribute to the smooth running of the school. Michelle really enjoys the variety of work her job brings, and particularly likes supporting our families in their first experiences of early years education. In her spare time Michelle likes to keep active, enjoying Pilates, time at the gym and long walks with her dogs.

School Administrator

Most of you will know Kiran as the first person you see and talk to at Grove House. She has been part of the team for over 10 years and does a great job of communicating with our families, organising admissions and helping people with all of their daily queries about nursery life and events. In her spare time Kiran likes to relax and unwind with her family.

Children's Centre Practitioner

Kamaljit took on the role of Children’s Centre Practitioner in September 2022, and before that she worked as a nursery nurse in our baby room. Kamaljit runs children’s centre activities at Grove House, such as ‘Stay and Play’, ‘Talk and Play’ and ‘Coffee Mornings’. Many of you might also know Kamaljit from the great work she does to support families with tasks such as applying for nursery funding or applying for school places. In her spare time Kamaljit enjoys being an active member of her local community, and spending time chatting with family and friends. Kamaljit is a speaker of Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.
 Aneet Thukral

Aneet Thukral

Teacher

Aneet has been teaching since 2011 and has extensive experience as an early years teacher and lead. After taking a short break from full time teaching to look afer her young children, she has returned with great enthusiasm and joined the Grove House team in April 2026. Aneet’s favourite part of the job is talking with the children and sparking their curiosity through meaningful conversations. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her children. Aneet is a speaker of Punjabi and Hindi.
 Ranbir Jaswal

Ranbir Jaswal

Teacher

Ranbir has been working with young children for more than 30 years, beginning her career as a nursery nurse before later training as a teacher. She worked at Grove House for many years, finishing her time with us in 2022 as Senior Teacher and SENDCo. After a few years away, we were very happy to welcome Ranbir back for two days each week. Ranbir has a real passion for teaching and for nurturing children’s early learning journeys. She loves witnessing their fascination and excitement as they discover and experience new things. In her spare time, Ranbir enjoys yoga, walking, and volunteering with charities that support people during challenging times in their lives.

Nursery Officer - Lead for Infants and Toddlers

Rozina has been supporting children and families at Grove House for many years, having joined the team in 1998. Rozina’s favourite part of the job is building relationships with the children and their families, and supporting them in their learning. Rozina is very creative and is always full of crafty ideas. In her spare time, she enjoys crafting and making things at home too! Rozina is a speaker of Urdu and Punjabi.

Nursery Officer - Lead for full time and holiday provision

Lovejeet joined us as a student in 2018 and, through her years of dedication and hard work, has progressed to the role of Nursery Office. Lovejeet enjoys thinking of fun and creative activities to do with the children, and loves building relationships with the families. In her spare time Lovejeet likes to bake delicious treats and relax with a movie.

Nursery Nurse

Sara joined Grove House in 2023, following working for more than 30 years with young children in another local primary school. Sara has a speciality in working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing, and can communicate in British Sign Language. Sara is very passionate about her work, and often spends her spare time creating lovely resources for the children to use at nursery. Sara is a speaker of British Sign Language (BSL).

Nursery Nurse

Nina has been with us at Grove House since the beginning of 2024, starting off in the over 3’s room and moving to the toddlers in Spring 2025. Nina finds great joy in nurturing each child and supporting them on their unique journey through nursery. In her spare time Nina loves to travel and broaden her horizons by exploring new places and trying new cuisines.

Maria has worked with young children for a long time, and has been supporting our toddlers at Grove House since 2018. She is passionate about building strong relationships with both children and their families, and takes care in tailoring her approach to meet each child’s individual needs. Outside of work, Maria enjoys spending time with her family and being actively involved in her church community. Maria is a speaker of Spanish.

Nursery Nurse

Emma originally joined our toddler room in 2019, and after a brief time away she rejoined us in 2024. Before coming to Grove, Emma has had many years of experience in different roles supporting and caring for children, including as a child minder and a community nursery nurse. She loves to watch the children grow and learn and feels that working with children is very rewarding. In her spare time Emma likes to relax by taking her dog for a walk and doing a bit of bird watching.

Nursery Nurse

Nazia joined us in 2021 as a nursery assistant. She has since studied and achieved her level 3 nursery nursing qualification, and took on the role of nursery nurse here in April 2025. Nazia enjoys learning what the children like to do, and planning activities that will put a smile on their faces. Nazia enjoys reading and cooking in her spare time, and always likes to talk on the phone with her family. Nazia is a speaker of Udru and Punjabi.

Apprentice Nursery Nurse

Lakhwinder joined us as a volunteer in 2021, and has since become a valued member of our team as a nursery assistant. Lakhwinder is currently studying for her level 3 childcare qualification as an apprentice, and she is excited for the new challenge as she loves to learn. In her spare time Lakhwinder enjoys spending time with her children, reading and unwinding at home.

Veerpal has been working at Grove House since 2002, and has settled and looked after hundreds of happy babies in that time. Veerpal loves getting to know the babies and their families, and enjoys being creative with resources and coming up with exciting activities with her team. In her spare time Veerpal enjoys stitching and listening to music. Veerpal is a speaker of Hindi and Punjabi.

Sadaf has worked with young children for almost 30 years, and has been with us at Grove House since 2023. Sadaf loves sharing in celebration with the children when they learn and achieve something new, and she enjoys working closely with her families. At home Sadaf loves to spend quality time with her children and family.

Apprentice Nursery Nurse

Shandana is currently studying for her level 3 nursery nursing qualification, having successfully completed her level 2 at Grove House in summer 2025. Shandana particularly enjoys welcoming children into nursery at the start of their nursery session each day. In her spare time Shandana enjoys studying and spending time with her son. Shandana is a speaker of Urdu and Pashto.

Apprentice Nursery Nurse

Reena is currently studying for her level 3 nursery nursing qualification, having successfully completed her level 2 at Grove House in the summer 2025. Reena enjoys building connections with the children and families she is working with, and loves to make them smile and laugh. At home Reena spends quality time with her children, and likes to unwind with family and friends. Reena is a speaker of Gujarati.

Nursery Assistant

Tahira has been working here at Grove House since 2007. She has supported and cared for so many children in all age groups within the nursery over her time here. Tahira loves leading music time with the children and playing exciting activities such as ‘what’s in the box’ with them. At home Tahira relaxes by reading and listening to music. Tahira is a speaker of Urdu and Punjabi.

Gail joined Grove House in 2020 and has enjoyed working with lots of different babies and toddlers over her time here. As well as supporting our babies in the baby room, Gail also runs weekly baby massage classes for local families here. In her spare time Gail likes to cook and bake delicious treats. Gail is a speaker of Konkani.

Ayesha came to us as a volunteer in 2017 while she was studying hard to achieve her childcare qualifications. She then joined us as a nursery assistant in 2018. Ayesha loves nurturing children’s natural curiosity through engaging activities, and is especially passionate about leading story and circle times. Outside of work Ayesha loves to relax with a good book or enjoy a new movie with her family. Ayesha is a speaker of Bengali.

Simmi has been working at Grove House for more than 20 years, and has supported hundreds of children in their learning over that time. In the over 3’s nursery Simmi particularly enjoys supporting children who struggle with communication, and she cherishes the interactions she has with children during ‘bucket time’ sessions. At home Simmi likes to unwind with her family, spending quality time together. Simmi is a speaker of Hindi and Punjabi.

Meera joined the nursery in 2010, and has helped many children and families at Grove House during that time. Meera enjoys helping children who need a little bit of extra care and support, and has many years of experience in supporting children with additional needs and disabilities. In her spare time Meera loves to spend time with her family, going for walks and watching movies together. Meera is a speaker of Tamil.

Bhanu joined Grove House in 2023 and works part-time supporting children in our toddler room. She is highly creative and enjoys engaging in play with the children, helping to create fun and meaningful learning experiences. Her favourite part of the job is building positive relationships with children and their families. Outside of work, Bhanu loves spending time with her granddaughter and relaxing with her family. Bhanu is a speaker of Gujarati.

Shazia joined the team at Grove House in 2001, starting out in the over 3’s and then spending many years supporting our youngest children in the baby room. Shazia really enjoys being part of a supportive team of adults who work together to make sure we are always providing the best quality care for the children. At home Shazia enjoys lots of cuddles with her grandchildren, and relaxes by reading or watching TV. Shazia is a speaker of Punjabi and Urdu.

Baksho has been supporting our babies and toddlers at grove house since 2012. She has affectionately been known by many children as ‘Auntie Baksho’, a nickname she’s earned over the years thanks to her caring nature and her remarkable ability to settle children peacefully for their naps. When she is not at work Baksho enjoys cooking delicious meals and sharing them with her family.

Fatima has been part of the Grove House team since 2023. She has provided dedicated 1:1 support for children with additional needs, as well as supporting children and staff across all age groups as a Nursery Assistant. Fatima's favourite part of her role is seeing the children she supports grow, develop and achieve new milestones, and she takes great pride in celebrating their successes alongside them. In her spare time, Fatima enjoys spending time with her family, keeping up with new trends, and relaxing with a good TV show. Fatima is a speaker of Punjabi, Urdu and Arabic.

Cook, Nursery Assistant

Ranjit has been our highly valued cook at Grove House since 2012, creating delicious and healthy meals for all our children and consistently maintaining a 5* hygiene rating for our kitchen. The over 3’s also enjoy breakfast club with Ranjit each day between 8-8.30am. In her spare time Ranjit also loves to cook for her friends and family at home, and enjoys sewing. Ranjit is a speaker of Punjabi and Hindi.

Cleaner, Nursery Assistant

Jaswinder joined Grove House Nursery School in 2022 as our cleaner and plays an important role in ensuring our nursery environment is clean, safe, and welcoming for our children. As well as her cleaning role, Jaswinder also supports children in our baby and toddler rooms as a Nursery Assistant. Her favourite part of the job is seeing the children smile, laugh, and enjoy their time at nursery. Outside of nursery Jaswinder enjoys dancing and creating fun videos of herself and her family. Jaswinder is a speaker of Punjabi and Hindi.
 Richard  Wakefield

Richard Wakefield

Site Manager

Richard joined the Grove House Nursery School team as our Site Manager in 2025. As well as maintaining the nursery building and grounds, Richard is skilled at creating and building resources that support children's learning and play. You can see his handiwork throughout the nursery, from practical improvements to creative additions that enhance our environment. In his spare time, Richard is a talented musician who enjoys performing with his band, Queensmen, as well as creating and editing music videos.
