Our Curriculum

The curriculum is delivered with a strong focus on learning through play. A wide variety of resources are available to allow the children to have access to the six areas of learning;

  1. Personal, Social and Emotional Development: Self help skills, developing independence and making friends
  2. Communication, Language and Literacy: Early reading and writing skills, speaking and listening.
  3. Mathematical Development: Developing understanding of number, measurement, pattern, shape and space in purposeful, real life contexts.
  4. Physical Development: Developing fine and gross motor skills and an awareness of keeping themselves healthy and safe.
  5. Knowledge and Understanding of the world: Early scientific experiences, exploration of their environment and awareness of significant people and places in their lives.
  6. Creative Development: Using art, design and technology, music movement, dance and role-play to explore and share ideas, thoughts and feelings.

All of the above areas are covered through the medium of play and the provision of carefully planned first hand, direct experiences, both indoors and outdoors. Planned activities with adult support are provided on a daily basis reflecting the needs and interests of the children.
